I’m a warm and compassionate counsellor offering a safe, relaxed, non-judgmental space where you can feel seen, heard, and valued. I believe every story matters, and that a genuine therapeutic relationship can open the door to healing, self-awareness, resilience, and the confidence to move forward.
Approach
My counselling style is highly relational, built on trust, respect, and collaboration. I recognise that our early experiences shape the way we think, feel, and behave, and that difficulties often arise from a blend of past experiences, present pressures, and future worries. I work in a way that feels both manageable and meaningful, and at a pace that suits you. Together we’ll make sense of the past, attend to the present, and gently create space for change.
As a person-centred integrative therapist, I adapt my approach to every individual, tailoring the work to their needs and personality. I draw on a range of therapeutic models, including:
Person-Centred Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Psychodynamic Therapy
Systemic Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy
Training and Experience
I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). My training has equipped me with a range of therapeutic approaches, which allows me to be creative and flexible in supporting your unique needs and way of working.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a Child, Adult & Family Therapist in a hospice setting, supporting people of all ages through grief, loss, and emotional challenges. I also bring many years of experience working with young people, which has deepened my understanding of emotional development, family dynamics, and the different needs that arise across life stages.
I appreciate how much courage it can take to begin counselling. Whether you're exploring past patterns, navigating current challenges, or working through feeling stuck, counselling can help. It offers a space to pause, reflect, and be yourself. I am deeply committed to walking alongside you, supporting you as you find your way forward.
“A big thank you to Amanda! Her creative methods helped me express myself metaphorically, see my strengths, and admire myself more. I’ve become happier and discovered there’s more to me than the ‘strong soldier’ I once called myself. Through our work, I’ve also grown closer to my faith, which I’m really proud of. She truly helped me find myself after feeling lost for a long time, and I appreciated how fully she listened without writing notes — it made me feel genuinely heard, seen, and valued”
“Amanda was reliable and professional. I felt heard and validated and empowered to be more confident in my choices and processes. She gave me the space to truly be myself”
