What is Heart AND Mind?
Heart and Mind is a social enterprise and was established in 2015 to provide affordable, professional health care and support to London's communities.
Today, Heart and Mind is made up of a team of 40 counsellors, psychotherapists, life coaches and clinical supervisors, who offer their professional services from three Heart & Mind sites.
Besides psychological therapies and coaching, Heart and Mind offers CPCAB accredited counselling training courses from a Christian perspective (Level 3 and Level 5).
Michael A Ruegg is the founder and director of Heart and Mind. He is a BACP and ACC registered and accredited counsellor, coach and qualified supervisor and coordinates the day to day running of the organisation.
Richard Lahey James acts as a consultant psychotherapist and oversees Heart and Mind's accredited counselling training courses.
Heart and Mind believes that the best things are done together. That is why we joined together to form a diverse team of practitioners, each with different experiences and from different backgrounds, allowing us to tailor our help to the specific needs of our clients. While every team member has her or his speciality and individual approach of working, each is committed to the highest professional standards, personal integrity and operates within the agreed values and principles of Heart and Mind.
We are committed to delivering high-quality care across the services we offer. All Heart and Mind counsellors are members of professional bodies, fully insured and have or are working towards accreditation with such bodies as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) or the Association of Christian Counsellors UK (ACC). As an affiliated organisation of the Association of Christian Counsellors UK (ACC), Heart and Mind subscribes to their code of conduct in areas of ethics, practice and complaints procedures.
Heart and Mind was set up to provide professional and affordable psychological care for London's communities. We recognise that professional help can often be expensive and out of reach for many, particularly for those who are in real need of help and support. As a certified social enterprise with a heart for the community, Heart and Mind charges on a sliding fee scale as well as providing a 'Low-Cost Counselling Service', supporting those who would otherwise be unable to access professional psychological help.
