DIONNE AKOTO
Online Consultations

I'm a Senior Associate with Heart and Mind. I work with individuals and couples, offering online sessions.

Life can be and feel difficult at times and we may struggle to find a way to move forward and progress. You are not alone, and you do not need to face these hurdles and struggles by yourself. I can offer a safe and private space for you to deep dive and explore these challenges in a non-judgemental and safe environment to establish healthier coping mechanisms that suit your lifestyle. Whatever is going on for you, I would love to work with you through this period of your life.

I work from a curated, integrative framework, which means I draw on a combination of psychotherapeutic modalities to best serve my client's needs.

Training and experience

I've worked with Heart and Mind since 2021. I'm a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. As an integrative therapist I work using a blend of Person-Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I specialise in Anxiety and Depression, People-Pleasing tendencies, and Relational Issues (particularly anxiously attached clients working on moving to secure attached).

I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I'm also a registered member of the Association of Christians in Counselling (ACC) and can discuss issues of faith, religion, and spirituality where that is relevant to you.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the corporate world and have a deep understanding on how easy it is to be defined by your work and lose sight of who you are and your purpose.
